This unconventional work reflects an emotional state of excitement, awe and adoration. Inspired by elements of abstract expressionisms action painting, it embraces intuitive and subconscious decision making, which allows me to release all intentional control and instead let my raw emotions guide my hand.
This work is part of a larger process, my own original technique whereby I spontaneously wipe, drip, smear and splatter paint across stacked and shuffled layers of canvas sheets, creating a continuous flow of paint off one canvas onto the next. The result is an “all-over” style; a record of the event of my interaction with the canvas.
